Organisational Structure
How a business organises its human resources can lead to increased efficiency and productivity allowing a business to maximise the added value to labour inputs. Smaller businesses may use informal structures with less specialisation, whereas larger organisations require formal structures with employees and managers holding various levels of accountability and responsibility throughout.
Culture and communication technologies also influence hierarchy, chains of command, decision-making and bureaucracy within modern-day organisation structures.
